3 Ways to Wear Tie Dye

THIS POST IS BROUGHT TO YOU BY BLUE VANILLA BUT ALL OPINIONS ARE MY OWN.

When it comes to elegance and ultimate sophistication in fashion, tie-dye is probably not the type of clothing you’d first consider. The term “tie-dye” first appeared in the United States during the 1960's. Hippies, who were protesting the Vietnam War and promoting peace and love, began wearing clothing with vibrant colors and psychedelic designs. If you wore tie dye you stood for something! And in today’s post, I’m standing up to show you tie-dye can be very chic and stylish. I’m sharing 3 ways to wear the comeback trend; as a top, as a bottom and as a dress! Continue reading to see full visual story.

WEARING: YELLOW TIE DYE SHIRT | WHITE LACE TIERED PLEATED SKIRT | ORANGE + WHITE CLUTCH | CHUNKY TRAINERS | HAIR CLIP | BLACK HAIR SCRUNCHIE

The first look is all about sporty and feminine pieces together. I love the juxtaposition behind contrasting styles and this is a combination I often go for. The tiered, lace, pleated skirt is actually a dress, but given that I wanted the yellow tie-dye shirt to stand out, I didn’t want to cover up the piece with the dress. So I styled it by tucked the top part of the dress underneath, and resulting in creating a skirt. To pair the feminine details of the skirt, I accessorized with a pearl hair clip and cute orange and white abstract clutch, designed by a friend of mine. To contrast with the pretty details, I went for a pair of chunky trainers to go in the mix.

WEARING: BLACK BELTED BLAZER | TIE DYE JOGGERS | BLACK SANDALS | BLACK BUCKET HAT

Needless to say, getting dressed for work during the summer is not the easiest thing to do. You want to wear something that's going to keep you cool during your commute, warm in your freezing office, plus take you from your desk to al fresco drinks—all while sticking to an office dress code. This black belted blazer has clean cut lines and perfectly tailored shoulders and lapels. It is in a slightly stretchy fabric, giving you a full range of motion and a comfortable fit. This perfect piece will fulfill both the oversized boyfriend blazer trend and the tailored belted blazer trend. Can be worn without the belt as a classic blazer or with the detachable belt for a more trendy look this season. To give it a more boho style, I wore tie-die joggers and a bucket hat. I think this outfit would be best on Casual Friday. And the tie-dye joggers are so cozy, it’ll be like wearing pj’s at the office. :)

WEARING: TIE DYE DRESS | SUMMER TOTE | ROPE SANDALS

The final and third look is a casual weekend outfit. Something that can easily be worn to the beach, the farmer’s market, brunch, and city strolls. I fell in love with the blue color of this tie-dye dress. And apparently many others as well, since it is already sold out! But if you click through the link, there is a way to be notified once the dress is restocked. I styled the dress with neutral toned accessories such as a large tote and rope sandals. Handcrafted in Peru, the Braided Frida Shopper is the perfect accessory for chic summer outings. This easy to carry and relaxed style is handwoven by indigenous female artisans and shaped with an open top that reveals a spacious compartment. Intricate weaving and long twisted braids further elevate this must-have, versatile accessory that comes in a chic olive shade, a lively mustard hue, a soft pink, an ice blue and a classic beige.

Blue and White Summertime Patterns

THIS POST IS BROUGHT TO YOU BY CHICWISH BUT ALL OPINIONS ARE MY OWN.

Starting off the week in a fresh maxi dress that can brighten up any Monday blues! Quite the versatile piece, I could have styled the dress in many different ways, as this piece would be great to wear as a wedding guest, attending some sort of shower, or even just a casual day out in the park with friends. But after stumbling upon a street mural that complemented with the blue floral print perfectly, I knew I had to do the shoot at this location. I chose to style this look simple, boho chic. Continue reading to see full photoshoot along with where to get this look directly.

Floral print with eyelet trimming, the dress has self-tied tassels string on neck, a V-neck with button down closure, an elastic neck, waist and cuffs. Not lined and made with 100% cotton, this maxi dress is extremely comfortable and easy to move in. The dress can pulled off with several different types of footwear, such as sneakers, mules, slide-ons, and more. I chose a black western cut out lace up ankle boot to resonate with a more bohemian vibe. And now with my hair back to being darker, I think the boots go well with the color too. I also styled the hair a bit more curled and wore a vibrant pink lip for a pop of boldness to the outfit.

Now… where is this cute street mural located in New York City? It’s at the Yumi Kim store on Stanton and Ludlow! It’s a great photo spot, and the city is full of them, so I’m always grateful that I live in a place where there’s an endless amount of backdrops within my fingertips that I can use for photoshoots. This blog kind of began back when I created my dog’s Instagram, even before my main one now, where I trained MaQ to pose in front of many, many different street murals within the city. People are always amazing at his obedience and enthusiasm on top. Except when we were shooting this, he was cheering me on with the photographer. ;) Wishing you guys a wonderful week, stay tuned for more this upcoming week. xo

Pink and Blue Ombré Dress

THIS POST IS BROUGHT TO YOU BY GGB BUT ALL OPINIONS ARE MY OWN.

One of my favorite types of dresses for every season, and especially during the warmest season of the year, are maxi dresses. They look flattering on all body types and there’s so many different patterns, prints, and materials to use for this type of dress. Ombré - the gradual blending of one color hue to another, usually moving tints and shades from light to dark. This multi colored ombre maxi dress featuring accordion pleats, gold halter neck strap, and elasticized open back screams summer. Continue reading to see complete visual story of this cotton candy - colored ombré dress.

This pink and blue ombré maxi dress is available in a variety of colors, such as an orange/red and purple, yellow and pink/orange, and lavender and blue/purple. The dress is from GEEGEEBAE and are $45. Use my discount code SUZANNE for 15% off your purchase from GGB. I don’t recommend this brand to petite women, unless you’re okay with many alterations at your tailor, it’s all good, but if not, try a different brand amongst the many I wear and share on my blog.

The blue mules are from EGO Shoes and matched quite perfectly with the blue part of the dress. The heels are over four inches and are a bit hard to walk in (not something I’d wear all day long) but for the office or even a nighttime outing would be completely doable. They run at about $40 and the brand has a 50% off online sale happening right now you guys can check out here. As always, thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed today’s photos! Until next time, xo.
