Starting Monday strong in a neon power suit: Summer Style Edition! I always like a pop of color to start my week - it’s all-around positive vibes with a definite side of eye-catching ability. But what I love most about this look is how comfortable and confident I feel in it! You can wear it down with chunky ‘dad’ sneakers or style them up with high-inched stilettos. Whatever floats your boat in terms of style, a pant suit can bring a lot of variety to your closet. You won’t believe it but this power suit is now on sale at only $15! What’s cool about matching sets is its versatility. Like this pantsuit - I can wear the blazer by itself (styled with a green dress in this post here) or the pants vice versa. The blazer looks great with dresses, jeans, shorts, and skirts - and the pants look great with a white tee or different colored blazer such as black or white. My favorite is with the two together, as it makes quite the statement… don’t you think? How would you like to style this pantsuit?

Being that it’s summer, I chose to wear sandals with the power suit to give it a more laidback yet still chic vibe. Very L.A. ‘workdrobe’, ha ha! I could have kept the outfit completely monochrome and styled it with a neon handbag but I thought a different color would make it even better. Which is why I went with this gold snaked embossed crossbody by Piper & Skye. The brand inspires elegance in every day life - so I styled it in two different ways while still being completely practical for everyday. One way was the belt bag style and the other is crossbody. You can also carry the bag as a boxy clutch.

The neon faux suede flat sandals are from Ego Shoes. Slip on and pair with cropped frayed hem jeans for daytime or slip into a floaty maxi dress for vacay vibes. I styled my hair in a pretty sleek braided ponytail to give the look a stronger feel to it. The chunky big hoop earrings are great when the hair is worn up, such as this kind of look. Milanese Geometric Dress

I had been wanting to shoot at the Bethesda Fountain in Central Park for the longest time but could never find anything fitting with the location. Nothing to get my mojo moving, that is until I came across an Italian fashion brand that's not only contemporary but with lots of roots and one of my favorite fabrics: Prints! And when one can't go to Italy, why not bring Italy to you?! Haha, keep reading to see the complete shoot where I styled it very Milanese-based and kept it fun. I'm also sharing my number one highlight from this location and why you guys need to go for yourself just for that reason!

All dogs go to Heaven... or so I've been told... and when I think of a place that is such like doggy Heaven, this is it! Part of the other reason I haven't shot at the fountain are the people. It's always overcrowded and I don't blame 'em for its serene beauty and transporting quality. We (as in my husband and I) woke up at 5:00 am to get ready and be at this particular location by 7:00/7: 30 am. I am NOT a morning person, and quite frankly, neither is the hubby! But when you're dedicated to bringing your vision to life, you do what you gotta do and set that alarm clock mad early! And it was soooo worth it because literally, all the pups of Central Park go to this fountain to roam around and play! The first shot of this post was a happy accident, but I decided to use it since it gave me such Italian-feels! Had I known it was a massive doggy playdate I would have brought MaQ with us! We even fed some of the birds after the shoot with leftover granola... its such things as this in life that make it truly special and beautiful. It was a glorious morning shoot! (YES, we did all of this today!) Can you say: Hustle? ;)

Now onto the dress! And my GAWD, I'm in LOVE! The pink, white and blue cotton dropped waist geometric print dress from La Doublej. It is made out of 100% cotton, fits true to size, and is oh so dreamy to wear! And comfy! Made in Italy, I love the dropped waist and frill at the end of the dress. But what struck me most about this dress is the print itself. If you're looking for some Italian flair with amazing unique prints, La Doublej is the way to go! What do you guys think of this dress? Most of you know I'm a complete bookworm and I've read thousands of books. I enjoy reading complex work such as Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, and others but during those hot summer months, I like nothing more than something simple and 'flowy' to read. Hi, everyone! How was your MDW? I have a new post up with an editorial video! For those who didn't catch my last post, I had been wanting to create more video content but given that video editing is not one of my favorite things to do, I do not create this kind of content often. However, so many of you, along with my peers have been strongly urging me to do more video so voila! When it comes to making a video, there's so much more that goes on besides a photoshoot. I feel like a like an internet browser... 19 tabs open, 3 of them are frozen, & I have no idea where the music is coming from! In all seriousness, that's another reason why I don't do videos often. It takes a lot of time and effort and if I don't see some sort of visual that I need to come to life, I wait until the inspiration comes. And when I received the Bikini Questa Sera perfume from Christian Louboutin, a strong sense of summer encouraged me to create this for you guys.

We literally had a total of two people in production and on set for this video. My husband and I are a team: He is the photographer & videographer - I am the creative director, location scouter, stylist, hair and makeup, and editor. While shooting photographs, you're too thinking a million and one things at the same time. Is my shirt tucked in properly? What about my hair? Are the sunglasses on straight? Am I on the good side of my face? Where is the light? Don't blink. Okay... car coming. Back to my mark. Another cat call? Great... oh where did I put my phone? Is it almost noon? I have a meeting to run to, I have to leave in a bit. Honey, now there's car behind you! Phew! See what I mean?

And doesn't even get to the shooting film, imagine doing all that again plus the multiple takes to get the shots you envision. And the more specific the frame gets, the more time and patience it will take, which to be honest can sometimes be challenging to me. But videography strengthens that along with my visual eye and apparent need to create film. I'm sure many other photographers, writers, and artists feel this way, where you get so many visual images in your head and this sudden outpour, this compelling conviction to bring it to life. To try to show others what you see, think and feel.

I hope this video (scroll toward the end of this post to view) brings you a certain feeling and appreciation for the artistic notion of oneself. I am still trying to get to a level where the content is super-glossy editorial, but alas, no one is perfect. But I am, every day trying to elevate my skills and to exercise them in the best way possible, and to me, I think that is through writing, photography, and film.
