December Beauty Favorites

Happy last Friday of the year and also my last monthly beauty favorites of 2018! There’s tons of skincare going on in today’s post as I discuss my viewpoint on switching from two different skincare sets during the week - which better your skin regimen and its effects. We’ve also got my latest favorite scented candle from Diptyque, a mysterious fragrance from Jimmy Choo, the best liquid eyeliner and only eyeliner I’ve been using these days, and a dark spot corrector that’s so insanely good I had to let you know about it NOW even before it’s available online! Hi, everyone! Hope you had a wonderful Fourth of July (to those who celebrated.) A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting Jessica Johnson from Jessica Johnson Beauty to check out their two new products being launched: a 3 in 1 face oil and a spray serum that is truly out of this world. I've been using these in my new skincare regiment and the results have been nothing but amazing! During the warmer months, my combination skin is far from flawless but since using these two products, my skin has never looked more supple, softer and full of that natural dewy glow we women all covet! These two products will remove your makeup, cleanse your skin, hydrate, strengthen, protect, nourish, and reduces inflammation. Think about how much time and cabinet space you save! Here's a breakdown of these two products: 

3N1 HYBRID FACE OIL 

This proprietary blend of 6 oils deeply cleanses, nourishes and hydrates. C02 Botanical Extracts of turmeric, calendula, & St. John's Wort that reduces redness and inflammation. For best results, use with their organic bamboo face cloths (so freaking soft!!!)

STEP 1: MAKEUP REMOVAL/MASSAGE/FIRST CLEANSE

Massage 4-6 pumps of oil over entire face, neck, chest and eye area. Using gentle circular motions, massage for one minute. Lay warm, wet washcloth over the entire face, take a few deep breaths and enjoy the relaxing effects of lemongrass, citrus, and sage essential oils. Gently wipe off oil, using circular movements, paying extra attention to the eye area to remove all makeup (completely safe!). 

STEP 2: SECOND CLEANSE 

Double cleansing at night is essential to healthy skin. Using 4-6 pumps of oil, spread evenly over face. Moisten fingertips with warm water and gradually add warm water to the face, creating a milky emulsion. Rinse well with warm water and pat skin dry. 

STEP 3: TREATMENT

Moisten skin well with the t3 Hydro Active Spray Serum. Place 1-2 drops of oil in the palm of your hand. Rub hands together then evenly massage a fine layer of the oil into the serum. All creams and lotions are an oil & water emulsion. In this step, when you blend the two products, you are creating a lotion right onto your skin! How amazing is that?!

T3 HYDRO ACTIVE SPRAY SERUM

The T3 Hydro Active Spray Serum is packed with the powerful treatment ingredients found in intensive serums, but it's easily applied as a spray! To use, after cleansing the skin spray serum on skin. While skin is still wet, massage 1-2 drops of 3N1 Hybrid Face Oil over serum. Use as needed throughout the day or during air travel to keep skin hydrated and protected. Here are some of the key ingredients founded in this serum:

Sodium Hyaluronate: An intense hydrator that attracts and binds moisture to the skin.

Cheers to the long weekend! What's everyone up to this #MDW? We are keeping it low key and staying in the city to catch up on work and then some. We just filmed and shot for something pretty exciting yesterday, and I can't wait to share so I'll be spending some time on it for the next few days. This past month I was supposed to release a video I had done with a brand but when they decided to go in another direction, I was completely disappointed. All my work on the film was for nothing. You see, I have been wanting to get more into videography and because of the original plans with the collab, it forced me to start learning more advanced stages in post-production in film. My actual videographer is my husband, but I direct, style and edit the film. Just like with photographs. Wish me luck! I've been using Kérastase haircare products since I was in college! They have amazing hair masks and lotions on top of shampoo/conditioners. It's that time of the month again! My roundabout of monthly beauty favorites, the November edition, is now live on the blog! We've got a cannabis candle that provides a natural aprhodisia, the most luxurious lip balm, a body scrub that looks like it's a smoothie, the most-insanely delicious scent of coconutty body wash goodness, a couple of YSL Beauty must-haves, and a new favorite organic serum that will bounce back that elasticity in no time. From your best girl to the biggest beauty junkie guru, these faves are fantastic holiday stocking stuffers, some unisex which is always a plus when it comes to the shopping madness (I mean, two birds, one stone sometimes, am I right? Ha ha!), but they're also great gifts to give to yourself too! 1. MALIN & GOETZ CANNABIS VOTIVE

A customer favorite (which I can attest to why), is one of Malin & Goetz's best-selling candles with its spicy, herbaceous scent. Top notes of fresh lemon and orange mingle with middle notes of fig and pepper. 4. FYTT HIT RESTART DETOXIFYING BODY SCRUB TREATMENT

This Detoxing Body and Facial scrub is the best! The ingredients are all natural and organic (for example) Kale, Spinach, Spirulina, Cucumber, and so many more. My skin felt so soft and awake after one use. The amount of exfoliation is just the right amount, it didn't irritate or damage my skin. There are traces of spearmint, leaving this cool minty refreshing feeling, perfect for mornings or after a workout. 

5. INTELLIGENT NUTRIENTS RENEWING OIL SERUM

Recovers and revives. Removes the red, relights the brightness, plumps to unline and firm, and makes elasticity bounce back for a what-did-you-do-differently radiance. I recently went to the Intelligent Nutrients NYC Flagship store for a complete, thorough facial. This is where I was introduced to this serum and let me tell you, it's one of the best serums I've tried this year! A definite must-have this winter season. 

6. SOAPBOX COCONUT MILK & SANDALWOOD DEEP MOISTURE BODY WASH

Give yourself a deep moisturizing experience with this coconut and sandalwood body wash. This shea butter and olive oil blended formula not only seals in moisture, but also contains coconut oil to intensify your hydrating wash. 8. YSL ÉCLAT GLOW SHOT IN SUNRISE

A liquid highlighter in shimmer tones to brighten the  complexion for a radiant, dewy glow from daylight to sunset. The YSL Glow Shots allow you to choose your highlight intensity. I picked the sunrise color as it is best on deeper skin tones, so it's fun to play around with it for contour and/or highlight depending on the day. This is definitely one of my favorite products from YSL Beauty.

9. TRACIE MARTYN AMIA PURIFYING CLEANSER 

The Tracie Martyn Amla Purifying Cleanser is a potent serum that works to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, leaving the skin free from impurities and imperfections. When I tried this cleanser at the show, I was blown away how purifying my hand look after just one cleanse! And this was just a sample on my hand! Imagine how great it felt to apply on the face! Definitely a top quality facial cleanser!

10. ELIXIR GOLD FOIL MASK

The Elixir golden mask is a unique product, created by the team of professional Korean and American cosmetologist. The mask consists of 100% natural high-quality ingredients. SAVONBOX & THE SCENT OF FIR

Hope everyone is enjoying the seasonal celebrations so far! Today's post is all about my most recent bath essentials. One of the main pluses of our apartment in the city is having an actual bathtub! I never realized how much I missed taking baths after living in our older apartment for seven years. Our older apartment's bathroom was tiny, fitting only a standup shower, a toilet and a sink. Not much space for anything else. But now, for the past couple of years, I really enjoy taking baths. It calms the body and mind, in my opinion, and who doesn't enjoy a little R & R?

As much as I love a good bubble bath, sometimes I just like to soak in the tub without the bubbles. And these luxury soaps from SAVONBOX are terrific! Fine glycerin bars for day and night, the Blue Opal and Black Raspberry Vanilla soap bars are fresh and fragrant, perfect for everyday use. My skin tends to get dry during the winter but these bad boys are hygroscopic, which means it attracts moisture, making it one of the most moisturizing varieties of soap. And my skin is so smooth!

The Blue Opal bar is a fragrance of joy, the essence of a sunny, happy morning. Fresh apple, plums and bergamot as top notes proceed into the floral heart composed of freesia, lily, rose and morning orchid with Amber. Trust me when I tell you this, it is heavenly! Such a great smell to get your day going.

The Black Raspberry Vanilla bar has a burst of black raspberry with the soothing warmth of vanilla undertones. Raspberry is a known aphrodisiac, and vanilla inspires love. <3 I use this one at night. Just the scent itself is extremely calming.

And what better scented candle for the Holiday season? The Thymes Frasier Fir Pine Needle Candle is crisp with it's just-cut forest fragrance, making it smell like there's a Christmas tree in your bathroom!  :)

I know I will definitely be getting more for the Winter time. The smell is so contagious, I want one for every room!
