Wintry Midnight Blue Holiday Dress

Happy first holiday weekend! How is it already December?! Does anyone else feel like this year has just completely flown on by? I don’t know about you, but time sure has been going by fast! While we’re getting into the swing of the festive season, such as gift shopping, wrapping, cooking and then some, there’s also tons of holiday events and parties to attend to this month. But what to wear? One of my go-to fabrics for the colder seasons is velvet - and what’s more chic than a velvet dress?! Continue to see more photos, along with where you can get this gorgeous midnight blue dress!

Serve up a little va-va-voom with this ultra feminine and fanciful velvet frock. A deep blue hue makes for the perfect background to an asymmetrical hemline and playful ruffles. Bell sleeves help to cap off an incredibly sophisticated ensemble. The buttoned cuffs and self-tied sash on the waist are my favorite details amongst the color of this gorgeous velvet dress! And can you believe it is only $80?! I paired the dress with darker accessories, and kept with a black range of fabrics such as suede and lycra.

The black suede heart-studded drawstring bag is from SepCoeur, a really amazing Parisian handbag brand. I can’t find the link for the exact bag in this look’s post, but I’ve link very similar ones throughout so be sure to check them out! Different price points as well. I also did the same thing for the black sock boots in the post, as I also cannot find them online anymore! New Year Vibe

Happy Monday, everyone! Are you ready for the Holidays yet? I can't believe Christmas is in a week! This year has completely flown by... I'm still not done with my holiday shopping yet! But I must confess, I've always been a last minute shopper. I'm also not the biggest fan of this season for a number of reasons, so in today's post, I'm sharing a holiday look that's not your usual glittery gold, silver, red or green colors, but a color more outside the box: Navy Blue! I've been completely obsessed with this color all year, and I just can't get enough of it! I even have some gorgeous navy blue satin sock boots coming in and I'm so geeked up on styling them. Last week's fashion post featured sustainable wear by NEW ViBE, you can check that outfit here, where there are hints of reds to inspire you for a more 'passionate' look for the holidays. The jersey dress in today's post is also made by the same brand. Come take a look at how I styled this dress for a more holiday-inspired look!

You can wear the navy blue jersey dress in a number of ways just like the dress with the red lace, I think it would look adorable with some sparkly tights, should you want to layer it up a little more for those colder temps. Since we chose to shoot indoors, I opted out with the pantyhose and went bare :) I brought in accents of gold from the Gucci belt, rose gold metallic boots, and hoop earrings. The final touch is this amazing yet unusual bag from Vendula London. They make some really unique bag, like this round film box crossbody bag with gold chain. The love the subtle added detail of the negative strip on the strap as well. Very cute and super chic. Go check out more of their bags here!

I'd definitely say this look is not suitable for a black-tie event, but you could definitely wing this for many different kinds of holiday parties, from a friends' get-together to an office party, it's a really great dress to wear for these occasions as well as after. I'd totally layer this with a good pair of jeans and boots with a touch of street style flair with a Vetements belt or a chunky statement earring, well into the winter months. Hey everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas weekend! What are you doing New Year's Eve? If you haven't found the perfect dress for the occasion, allow me to lend a helping hand! Gold is IN right now. And with this Rose Gal metallic mini scalloped dress, you'll be dancing the night away in no time! I paired the dress with champagne-colored satin slingbacks from Nina Ricci. I feel it complements well with the metallic as too much of anything, such as metallic on top of metallic, can be too much. The Kendra Scott Carla earrings are the loveliest droplets for this kind of glam holiday look.

So... are you more of the going out type on New Year's? Or do you like to stay in and cuddle at home for the big event? I, myself, don't mind either and have done my fair share of both. I think when you're young and/or single it's a grand ole time to be out painting the town red. But sometimes it's really great to just spend time with the ones you love. If I have one tradition on New Year's, it's definitely with a bottle of champagne! I love Veuve Cliquot especially, do you have a favorite tradition on New Year's? High School Vampiress

A couple of weeks ago I attended a pop-up event that only carried collector items from the fashionable 90s time period. Spark Pretty is a store filled with vintage items from this decade and I was lucky to find a one-of-a-kind red velvet sleeveless dress. I love it's variation in length, short in the front and long in the back. But now that's it's getting colder in New York, I couldn't just wear this gorgeous piece alone! By the way, how adorable is this dress for Holiday events + parties?!

Heavily into layering this AW season, I paired the dress with a chunky, black lace-up jumper from Rosegal. They have great, affordable trending pieces in fashion and accessories. I love Rosegal so much I even accessorized with jewelry from them as well! Their stacked rings are super chic and the single bead hoop earrings bring sexiness to any outfit. The final detail are these killer over-the-knee platform boots from Angelina Shoetique. These boots have a life of their own and definitely was the inspiration behind the title of this blog post! What do you guys think of this emo/grunge/darker look? I certainly don't dress like a high school vampiress every day, but it was so much fun styling these pieces with a different concept we haven't done yet!
