It is bomber jacket season (okay well, to me, it's always bomber jacket season due to my obsession with 'em) and in today's post, I'm showing you three ways to wear them! What's great about bomber jackets is their versatility - clothing that is easily adaptable is one staple in my closet, amongst other factors such as durability and comfort. And these kinds of jackets are made in all sorts of ways from satin to embroidery and even leather. They are a hot-hot spring trend to have this season and I'm showing you three different jackets that offer a stylish twist on a classic item.

For look one, I went all for empowerment. Girl Power. Case in Point: Proud Feminist. I've had this UO satin bomber since last spring but its quilted comfiness and killer floral embroidery has kept me continuing to wear it throughout several seasons. To maintain a downtown cool and casual chic vibe, I wore my favorite distressed jeans by Vagabond Honey and a sassy blush pair of Franco Sarto oxfords. Wearing a bomber jacket in any casual look can bring a slight edge without going too overboard.

In look two, fierceness is the word! And Korean pride, y'all! I've been looking for a killer Korean-styled bomber jacket for years, but never had one pull at my heart strings like this one from Forever 21! The second I laid eyes on this vision in red, I knew it had to be mine! I kept it true to my roots and wore my favorite basketball team's shirt, the one, and only Los Angeles Lakers! Fun fact: I have this ridic fantasy that if I ever make it big I'm going to sit courtside right next to Jack Nicholson and be at every home game just like him! Ha ha ha! As for my roots, I was born in California. To keep the outfit on the edgy side, I wore a high slit skirt, a western-styled turquoise belt, and old school Stan's. I wanted to keep it pretty LA street style, maintaining my background within this look. You guys, like? :)

Last but not least, look three is all about that sexy vibe us girls feel from time to time. Some more than others because I'm not one to dress up in racy outfits every day, but in some instances, I feel like showing a little more skin or wearing heels. My most recent and latest bomber obsession is this evil eye varsity jacket from Jocelyn. You can find this jacket at Olive & Bette's here in New York or online. The last evil eye I had in my wardrobe was a necklace and because it was so delicate and I'm accident-prone, it eventually broke (enter sad face). I've been looking for a piece for some time just like the Korean bomber jacket, but I never add anything to my collection anymore unless I'm completely and absolutely in love with it. Otherwise, what's the point? (In my opinion.) To keep this look fresh yet cute, I accessorized with a pair of bell bottom crop jeans, a teeny-tiny coin purse, and kitten heels

Valentine's Day Rebel

I may not be the biggest fan of Valentine's Day. There are many reasons; one – my mother's birthday is the day before and I always feel a tad guilty celebrating love with her not around (for those who don't know, both of my parents are unfortunately deceased) and two, I've always found it to be such a bologna-Hallmark holiday. It's overrated and you shouldn't need a day to show someone you love them. What will I be doing this year? Strutting around with my girlfriends and hopping from one fashion show to the next. Let's not forget the events and after parties... it's going to be a killer week here in New York! Let's link up while you're in town for NYFW!

Also, what's a girl to wear rebelling against Cupid's favorite day of the year? How about saucy mixed with a laid-back rocker chic vibe? Not going to lie... my nips froze to all hell while shooting this in 32-degree weather (Fahrenheit y'all) but with my trusty and most worn Assembly New York coat, it actually wasn't that bad. (I may or may not have done a bunch of jumping jacks in hopes of staying warm ha ha!) Even though I got cold fast I love how the embroidered bodysuit has a built-in choker. Don't you think it polishes the look all together? To keep it semi-casual, I styled this look with my favorite J Brand skinny black jeans and Urban Outfitters's Maribel Western belt. I know a lot of you girls have a similar one in black but a pop of brown, especially if your brown hair is on the lighter side, can complement well with each other.

And lastly, let's not forget about the details! Firstly, my fringe bangs are in need of a trim (yay hair cut & color on Tuesday) so I did a half-up-half-down top knot/messy bun hairstyle to be able to pull the bangs back. And with a darker lip, I could totally get away with being Eric Northman's girl, no? ;) The maroon mini saddle bag from Closet Access is not only chic but definitely affordable. Aren't the stitching and sides of the purse so well-designed?! I've really been into the color maroon. Normally I'd say it's a fall color, but I feel like darker colors are transitioning from the winter into the spring period this year. Like these gorgeous suede and leather bound laced-up ankle boots from Maumero Shoes in New York. Sometimes, depending on the light, the boots will appear more blue-grey than gray. I love its versatility as you can pair these with leather leggings or a dress, from day to night I know I'll be wearing these 3" boots often. β€οΈŽ

Happy Monday! How was everyone's weekend? We had a low key and cozy one for a change. For once I was able to unwind and just relax! And catch up on some much-needed sleep. And have brunch with an old gal pal. And editing, of course. ;) MaQ turned 4 on Saturday and because of the rain, we postponed his birthday plans until hopefully sometime next weekend. YES. My dog has birthday plans every year! I don't care what anyone thinks. He's only going to have so many birthdays, and I'm determined to making each one count! I was kind of bummed not being able to do what we initially had planned, but to be quite honest, I needed to recover from working non-stop since NYFW. After going weeks without a break, it's important to breathe and reboot. As much as I love going out, meeting new people and socializing, I also enjoy my alone time. It's where I gather my thoughts and inspirations, and try to creatively put together different points of view, whether from fashion or travel, or food, I want you to see my world from own personal style & taste.

An ongoing trend that started during Milan Fashion Week same time last year is the back to front shirt, where all types of buttoned down shirts are worn in reverse. The back in the front and the front in the back. Even during the latest interview I did on the blog, I helped style my goddaughter, OcΓ©ane, in one of her boyfriend's white shirts, where I created an off-the-shoulder look and tied the sides of the shirt around her waist. Take a look here. I love how versatile and casually chic this look brings to the ordinary mundane white blouse. And in fashion, I love playing and mixing up with trends. In this case, one of my favorite trends happening on the runway right now, especially in Paris, is oversize everything. The extra layers and volume put a great twist on already trendsetting looks, such as the back to front shirt! Which is why I picked out my husband's white tux shirt with French cuffs. The sleeves are exaggerated to my petite frame, bringing attention to the shirt. I tied a small doubt-knot in the back leaving the front of the shirt unbuttoned to show a little skin.

What I also love about this style is you can pair the shirt with jeans or a nice flared pant, which I did here in this outfit. I love that you can wear this day to night, or work it with a skirt or even a maxi dress. There's so many ways to style the plain white shirt! Let's not forget to mention my favorite pieces of jewelry at the moment, the Arta ring from VajzΓ« and the Noel choker from Veronika. I'm obsessed with both; the gold dagger ring dazzled with clear crystals and the emerald gorgeousness from the choker. Talk about bead work too! Brown suede heeled sandals are BCBG Paris and the fresh blue-colored crossbody bag is from Dress Lily. Western-styled belt is from Urban Outfitters. To accentuate the green and blue colors from the accessories, I wore fuchsia colored lipstick and let the wind do it's thang to my mane. (Did not at all intend to rhyme. Nope, not one bit.) ;)
