Coral and Ivory Look

One of the hottest colors trending this summer is the lovely coral pink. But what colors go best with this bold, vibrant hue? And in a modest, elegant way? Sure, colors like gold, teal, turquoise, even navy are great combinations to perfectly blend more rich colors. But I’m not a wedding table top. Ha ha! Loud colors together can be too much sometimes, which is why I chose to style a white shade that I think goes so well with coral. Meet ivory. It’s another color that’s currently happening, which you’ll also see a lot of this fall. Continue on to see how I styled this particular summer look, accessorized with trendy styles while still remaining true to my style.

While ivory is still part of the mix to the coral shade in this look, with the cargo skirt and marble statement earrings, any other white shade even the color, white, is a great color combination with the pink hue of coral. One trendy shoe style this summer? Anything platform. I love these white summer sandals because of this reason. The cute buckle detailing as well plays nicely with the other colors as well as bringing a contrast with the delicate cami top.

Another trend in accessories this summer are straw handbags. To be honest, they are always on point during this season. They complement with many summer looks - and I have nothing but love for them. This bag is a combination between two different brands. The straw crossbody is from Teddy Ondo Ella, when I had attended their show a couple of years ago during NYMFW and received the bag as a gift. They no longer make them, which is something I also love because it feels more like one of a kind. The chain strap is from a Korean handbag brand, Gu De. I styled the chain with the straw bag to give it a nice mixture amongst everything else. 5 Ways to Style A White Shirt Dress

Happy Monday, everyone! How was your weekend? Over a month ago I had styled an indigo shirt dress to which many of you went crazy over the dress. The blue color is a shade I wouldn’t wear everyday, but white I definitely can! So, today on the blog, I’m sharing 5 different ways to style a white shirt dress for the summer season. I’ve switched it up from casual to more dressy, but these looks can definitely be carried throughout the rest of the season. WEARING: WHITE SHIRT DRESS | MELON BAG | BEIGE PEARL HEELS

The first way is to wear the white shirt dress by itself. No belts, no jackets, nada. Just solo. This type of dress would also work great as a beach cover-up aside from wearing it in the city during a hot summer day. Since wearing white alone keeps the look pretty plain, I thought it would be best to style the dress with bold, luxury statement pieces to bring the outfit to life. I paired it with my new favorite bag from Thesis Crisis and these luxurious slingbacks from YUUL YIE. I also wore a pair of resin hoop earrings, to balance with the accessories.

The second way I styled the white shirt dress is a variated criss-cross top. It’s a little sassy and a little business-y, which makes it a perfect look for an afternoon filled with meetings even through the evening should you have other events to attend to. I like that I feel like a boss even though it’s a more casual vibe. The bermuda short jean is super trendy this summer. If you want a more serious type of look, you can style this shirt dress and jeans with a sleek black blazer. Other accessories in this look are my favorite red Furla bag, white tie-up sandals from Linzi and pearl hair clips from Atelier des Femmes.

The third look is all about my favorite summer color at the moment: Yellow! Inspiration from this look? Lakers girl! I’m a die-hard fan and also kept my California roots to this outfit. Casual, slightly boho, chic and fun. Very L.A. kind of gal. The yellow blazer is from Akira and the bag is from Forzieri, the brand: Le Parmentier Paris. You can get your Peyote bag from Forzieri. The white shirt dress is styled in a very similar way like look 2 except instead of the tie being criss-crossed to the back, I took it to the front and did a simple tie around. I also unbuttoned a few more buttons located in the back which opened the dress a bit more to show off the wide leg jeans. Other accessories include bold statement hoop earrings and vintage Calvin Klein ruby patent slingbacks.

Another great way to style a white shirt dress is by making it into a cardigan/kimono/beach wrap. In look #4, I went with an all-white look. Perfect for a beach day, picnic, or an all-white party (just hold the marinara sauce away from me LOL) this casual look is a recent fave and will definitely be a repeat offender this summer. The trick to an all-white look is wearing different shades of white. This will help to not have you look washed-up and creates more dimension to a simple look. That and play on textures and materials, such as this headband scarf from Atelier des Femmes and these chunky sole buckle detail sandals in white from Ego Shoes.

Last but not least is the most dressy of looks. I got the inspiration from sonatas in classical music as they are one of my favorites in this genre. Chopin, specifically. So I wanted to style the white shirt dress in a more refined, polished up look. First thoughts that came to mind was black and white, gold accents, and a bold vampy lip. I chose to tuck in the front of the dress shirt - you’ll need a skirt that has breathing room like this black mermaid one I’m wearing that’s perfect for date night. The back of the shirt dress has a simple but chic bow tie that I feel works wonderfully with the polka dot hair scrunchie scarf and gold statement earrings. Blue Floral Halter Summer Maxi Dress

I love to wear blue all-year round, even during the summer. I think the color evokes many different emotions, but there might be certain occasions one would not feel so comfortable wearing a certain shade of blue. Take for instance: somewhere in the tropics. Not the first go-to color, right? But if for example I were to be at a very tropical destination wedding, this is the kind of look I would completely go for. The Tiered Halter Maxi Dress from Who What Wear™ is a floaty printed chiffon with ruffled edging, with a shoulder-baring neckline and dramatic A-line skirt that hits at the ankle. Wear it with a pair of flats for a modern boho look, or pair it with a heeled sandal for an elegant summer wedding statement. I went with a pair of Cult Gaia dupes, these white genuine leather hollow out pointed toe slippers are my new favorite shoes for summer. The heel detail is quite stunning and even though these pair are on sale for only $72 here, they look like they’re worth much more. To tie together the rest of this summery feminine look I accessorized with a straw clutch with black pom pom, wooden bangles and earrings with a similar woven straw-like material. I think these materials work well with the mules as well as with the dress. It’s a look I could wear any day, to a wedding, or on vacation at an island resort. How to Style A Yellow Neon Snake Print Skirt

It’s Friday! I don’t know about you folks, but it’s been one hell of a week. Everything went wrong, and no matter how hard I tried to persevere, more and more continued to fall downward. It was a disaster. First I had the eye situation (see in last post), then tried to get back to work shooting content that was delayed because of that (of course, everything I need to photograph was beauty shots! UGH) and then came the unpredictable weather. If the meteorologist said it was sunny, we’d go out to shoot and voila, out came the rain. And vice-versa! I had to skip all my events this week just to try and catch up on my workload, which is something I really hate doing. If I say I’m going to be somewhere, I’m going to be there. And no matter what I tried to style this week, whatever I did it just didn’t seem to work. I am extremely hard on myself, and never feel my best is even close to good enough. Any suggestions on how to be easier on myself without having the guilt of ‘slacking’ or not doing my ultimate best? I ‘borrowed’ this men’s jacket from my husband’s closet. By the French designer, Pierre Cardin, he prefers geometric shapes and motifs, often ignoring the female form. He advanced into unisex fashions, sometimes experimental, and not always practical. When I saw the silhouette of this jacket, I knew it’d look great as an oversized blazer on me. I think it helps create more masculinity into this look, which is also quite feminine from the waist down. I kept it simple with a black t-shirt to not overshadow this amazing blazer. I’ve been eyeing the strappy sandals from The Row, but even someone like myself can’t always afford the splurge into higher-end goods. Which is why I love to dupe, from time to time, especially when they look and feel amazing such as these white spring/summer sandals I’m wearing by Linzi Shoes. Made with soft faux leather, with a toe post and a strappy lace up that has almost a 4” heel, but it doesn’t feel that way. They’re actually quite comfy! Last but not least, the snake print skirt. It’s yellow neon, has an elastic waist (my favorite) with a pleat and midi-length.
