Burgundy and Cognac Fall Outfit

THIS POST IS BROUGHT TO YOU BY H&M, RHANDERS 1811 & HVISK BUT ALL OPINIONS ARE MY OWN.

NYC fashion blogger

Happy Friday! Who is ready for the weekend? I know I am! One of my favorite styles is casual chic, and it’s probably what you’ll see me most in but I always love to mix things up. In today’s post, I’m sharing a very fall outfit with two appropriate shades that work so well together, you’ll want an outfit just like it before the winter season rushes in. When it comes to drinks, burgundy and cognac are not going to be a good mix - but this combo will definitely score points in the fashion department! Continue reading to see complete visual story, which includes a very luxe pair of lamb leather gloves, a printed textile floral bag and more!

I’m wearing a wool burgundy blazer from H&M but unfortunately, it is no longer in stock. I’ve listed one that is very similar below. [link HERE] One of my favorite ways to style a blazer is with a really good pair of jeans, like these which are wide leg and very stylish together with the jacket. Since the color stands out on its own, I opted with a more subdued color for a sweater and went with a charcoal grey cashmere turtleneck sweater.

Diana is exquisitely elegant, yet free-spirited. She is classic and timeless, yet ultra-modern. She has the allure of speed, fun, and wind in your hair. You need her for the soft autumn and frosty spring days. Sewn with full piqué, which is the most delicate sewing technique – only mastered by few seamstresses in the world. The results? A sophisticated finish with a perfectly elegant feel, wrapping tightly around your fingers, as there are no inside seams. The finest and most exquisite lamb leather, offering a butter-soft touch with an astonishing world-class strength. The Diana gloves are my new go-to gloves for the season. Super luxurious. Super chic.

The floral printed textile bag is from HVISK, which I think makes a lovely juxtaposition with the gloves and blazer. I think the orange and black tones work well with the outfit, but the eclectic texture and style are what make the bag. The bag has one big compartment with three small inner pockets. The bag comes with a chain strap, which makes it possible to use it as a crossbody. Lastly, I wore snakeskin boots to complement the printed bag. I love mixing prints and when done the right way, it can look really great together. What do you guys think of this look? How would you wear the blazer and gloves combined with one another? Would love to hear your thoughts! In the meantime, wishing you a fantastic weekend. x

4 Staple Cashmere Pieces for Fall and Winter

THIS POST IS BROUGHT TO YOU BY FILORO CASHMERE BUT ALL OPINIONS ARE MY OWN.

Shoot Location: 219 E 44th St PH listed by Douglas Elliman / Photos: Madison Pittman

One item you can definitely count in my closet during the fall and winter season is cashmere. It’s luxe, soft and oh so cozy. Not to mention the warmth it brings to any chilly day! And without that bulky feeling when wearing heavier sweaters. It’ll make you feel rich even if you’re not (HI) and if taken care of properly, can last a good while. I mean… really, what’s not to love about cashmere? In today’s post, I’m sharing four staple cashmere pieces that are super stylish that are affordable while also still maintaining high-end quality cashmere.

WEARING: BLACK CASHMERE SWEATER | LEOPARD ANKLE BOOTS | WIDE LEG JEANS

I think most women have had more than one time or another a black cashmere sweater. It is most certainly a staple piece. Can be worn with pretty much anything and it is classic chic to a T. Perfect with jeans and fabulous boots or a print midi skirt. Slacks, over a dress… you name it, it’s a guarantee yes in the fashionable department.

WEARING: CAMEL CASHMERE TURTLENECK SWEATER | WHITE PANTS

Another classic fall and winter piece is a camel-colored top. How about a cashmere camel-colored turtleneck sweater? I love camel with white, but this color also complements well with black, olive, purple, red and more. I’m also a huge fan of turtlenecks so this sweater is another must in my wardrobe. This sweater would look great with a leopard or snake print skirt/shoes or even with jeans… a monochrome look also.

WEARING: PINK CASHMERE SWEATER | PINK RUFFLE SKIRT | PINK WESTERN ANKLE BOOTS

To add a little color in your fall clothes, why not a fun cashmere sweater like this one?! I’m really into hot pink lately, and this one is also a favorite. I love the details of this pink sweater such as the lattice texture and the balloon sleeves. These make the top alive and just fun. I styled this look with more pink accents such as the blush pink ruffle skirt and western snake print ankle boots.

WEARING: CARDIGAN CASHMERE SWEATER | BLACK SUEDE BOOTS

I love a good cardigan top, but cashmere?! Oh yes, indeed. This one to me is like a hybrid of Mad Men and Martha Stewart vibes, but chic AF. Want to be a good wife? Wear this and some sexy boots with a martini in your hand when he arrives home from work. LOL. All kidding aside, I love the lace appliques and length of the cardigan. All very elegant. This cardigan cashmere sweater would also look great with black trousers if you want a more polished look.

How to Wear a Maxi Skirt If You Are a Petite or a Short Woman

NYC fashion blogger

Stepping up my game in the styling department this Monday! You know, us, petite girls, need a little more recognition in the fashion world because it’s not easy styling when it comes to being short. Especially when it comes to bottoms: Pants, skirts - you name it, normally anything will need some adjustments. But what if you can’t take it in to the tailor every time? Pinching a few pennies? Why not, “Make it work” as Tim Gunn says? And if you’re a true stylist, you can adapt to anything and yes, indeed, make it work! You know I’m not much of a pink girl, but many of my readers really like it when I wear this color. So on one count, I’m challenging myself to style one skirt in two completely different ways, and two, for the love of my followers. Here you go! Continue reading to see the complete shoot!

When I thought about how to style this skirt, given the fact that the pink maxi skirt (as cute as it may be), it was far too long for me. So what’s a petite gal to do? HIDE THAT ISH. And since it’s winter, I paired it with a loosely fitted black cashmere sweater with #MOOD written on it in a plush red. To accentuate with the top, I accessorized with my new favorite bag that’s got a gorgeous oxblood color with an adjustable gold chain. You can see how I wore it both ways. Even my lipstick and nails are similar to the shades or red, but not exact. And this was intentional. I think it brings more of the pink out in terms of its statement, and it’s quite a ruffly skirt! I may not be a girly girl, but I sure do feel quite the lady when wearing it.

My new favorite black winter boots have yellow laces and a rough edgy feel to them. I’d say they’re combat boots and the platform always makes me feel like I can kick ass when wearing them. Ha ha! I’d say this look has a definite punk feminine chic vibe to it. You know me for my edginess & rebelliousness when it comes to my personal style, I really had fun putting together this first look. But wait… there’s the other look. How did I style the pink maxi skirt this time? Definitely has an overall different vibe to it as well!

One of my favorite ways to style a maxi skirt is to wear it as a dress! As a petite and short woman (I’m only 5’3’’) who is always looking for ways to save a few bucks, and also doesn’t always have time to wait in between alterations at the tailor’s, it never hurts to find creative ways to style yourself! And this second look is more for an evening affair. Playful, elegant and still with a little bit of edge, this pink maxi skirt, now dress, is a showstopper. I styled the piece with the darkest color known to man to give contrast to the feminine shade I don’t normally wear, if not ever. I love pink and black together!

The look was definitely inspired by Carrie Bradshaw’s Oscar de la Renta dress from the show, Sex & the City, where her Russian boyfriend gifts it to her right before whisking her away to the ballet. I wanted the same type of feeling when it came to the second look. More whimsical. A touch of elegance. And a look you’ve never seen me do. And just like Carrie, I have a thing for accessories. This unique 100% leather based ball bag with Swarovski crystal stones, silver studs, glow in the dark stars and hand painted detailing is pretty insane when it comes to its details and I thought it was quite the bag to carry with this look!

I wore black strappy heels to give more of an elongated look as well as keeping with the color scheme. And when it came to styling this pink maxi skirt into a dress, I knew I need to cinch the waist with a belt, to give some shape to the long dress. I just used black satin ribbon, the same one I wore on my wedding day, and snugly tied it in the back. A statement belt, like the one I’ve linked would be just as great, but to style this as a dress it definitely need something to hold the waist in. Thanks for stopping by and checking out my duo-styled post! I truly enjoyed doing this, so let me know if you’d like to see more styling challenges like this one! Until next time… :)

I Lilac Like That

THIS POST IS BROUGHT TO YOU BY W. CASHMERE.

NYC fashion blogger

Happy Tuesday! I’m back at it with another color clash when it comes to fall/winter colors! You guys really seemed to dig the last one on blue & pink (Link here) and since I’ve been loving it myself, why not?! :) So without further ado, let’s get talking about the color choice of the day, it’s not exactly lavender, nor is it violet, but lilac! And the feature of today’s outfit post is a gorgeous cashmere turtleneck sweater… in lilac! Come check out how I styled this piece along with where to shop everything.

Meticulously crafted with ultra-premium cashmere, W. Cashmere’s timeless essential is a winter wardrobe must-have. Top off any seasonal look with this modern take on the timeless turtleneck sweater.  A contemporary relaxed fit pairs with a classic silhouette and super soft cashmere knit for a luxurious appeal that looks and feels great. Perfect for wearing with anything in your closet, this piece is destined to become your new go-to sweater. And did I mention it’s the softest cashmere I’ve touched to date?!

I contrasted the soft lilac with more vibrant colors such as red, orange and even, neon! But the neon is very subtle with just a pop of it on the side of my favorite oversized handbag. The red Chelsea boots are super comfy to walk in let alone how they look. And the orange is within a leather wristband of a watch, one by a luxury Parisian-brand you all need to know about called Michel Herbelin. I never thought I’d own an orange watch, but how unbelievably chic is this one… can you blame me?

Lastly, I’ve styled this leopard print dress before. But it was across the pond, in London during fashion week. (Link here) During the fall/winter season, I really love to layer and make the most out of my closet. When I had posted a teaser of this post on Instagram last week, many thought it to be a skirt! Layering game success! Lolol. I cinched the cashmere sweater just a bit to give it a more ‘crop’ like feeling, to bring more of a silhouette to my petite frame. Like this look and want to lilac like that? Ha ha! Drop your comment down in the section below!
