WEARING: CHICWISH ONLY FOR YOU MESH LACE TOP | DL1961 FARROW ANKLE HIGH RISE
SKINNY LARAMIE | THE LUXELLE SILVER PLATED PURSE | BCBG HEELS

THIS POST IS BROUGHT TO YOU BY CHICWISH, DL1961 & AVEDA.

Happy Monday! Yesterday I shared a favorite new spring top that's definitely a statement piece. It's crisp white details definitely catch the attention of others, and in today's outfit I'm sharing another statement top that's a bit more boho and romantic as well as my new favorite pair of skinny jeans from a great jean brand that you all need to know about! I'm also discussing a little bit more about my hair cut & color, as a lot of you having been asking me several questions regarding where and who does my hair. Continue reading to learn more and also to get the scoop on where to purchase these items from my look.

SHOP THE TOP

This mesh lace pale pink blouse has a v-neck design with semi-sheer mesh, with crochet trimmed on neckline, as well as double layered bubble sleeves with elastic cuffs. The waist is also elastic, easily shaping the top into a beautiful silhouette. You can find this top at Chicwish, where it's currently 25% off! It's fit to size and I'm wearing a size S/M. It is also 10% polyester and lined, which is a win with the temperamental weather. But my favorite part of this blouse is the romantic-feels behind it. Wouldn't it look so chic with white pants or a white flowing maxi skirt?

SHOP THE JEANS

The Farrow Ankle is DL1961's ankle length Insta-slim skinny with a high-rise, contoured waistband and a high recovery, high retention fit that instantly slims the legs, midsection and waist without ever bagging, sagging or losing its shape. Laramie is a classic mid-indigo wash with rich fading, slashed knees and ravaged hems. Sizes run big due to stretch content - if between sizes, order one size down.

My bag is from a brand in Chicago called The Luxelle, and the silver plated clutch/cross is super unique and fun for several different types of outfits. I think it contrasts well with the soft color and feel of the blouse and indigo of the jeans. My green heels are from BCBG and I've been wearing them since I was in college! Uber comfortable to walk around in. (trust me... I've had these pair for a while now... lol.)

I am an Aveda ambassador, and I've been getting my hair cut & colored at Tribeca's Fourteen Jay for the past couple of years. David Adams is my colorist and Taylor Lambert is my hair stylist. They are responsible for my hair transformation with the fringe bangs and the major change in color. But mind you, it took up to ten sessions to get to this hair color while keeping my locks healthy. I hope this helps answer a lot of questions regarding my do. If you have more, don't be shy to drop me a message or leaving a comment down below!

When one runs to the grocery store, I think the last thing we're thinking about is the way we are dressed. Now who's to say what can one wear to and from the market? It should be fair game, no? But in reality, most of us are running in and out in our everyday getups - maybe even slipping in with our pjs every now and then, especially on a late night run. This is why I love fashion styling. You don't have to work with the rules of only reality. You can set greater expectations and create stories you wouldn't be able to otherwise without the garments, accessories and everything else in between when gathering a look into a concept. And with my new passion in video (as much as I piss and moan about the process of editing - because yes, it really is a pain) lately, I'm really into creating these teeny tidbits of short film all wrapped up within a minute and incorporating the video with photographs. Come check out this decadent late night run to the market, something I'd totally be doing after show at the Met Opera + dinner... I like having dessert at home.

How crazy luxurious-looking is this blue jumpsuit?! And the more insane part is that it's from Rosegal and it's less than $23! Sadly it's currently sold out! I just checked this morning as I was getting ready for publish this post. But there's other colors like black and red which are also perfect for the fall season! I love a good jumpsuit for date night - like I mentioned earlier this is something I'd wear to the opera or ballet, maybe even a special event of some kind, but it's definitely more on the dressy side for me and I love how confident I feel in it! My silver plated clutch is from The Luxelle, and I love how the bag fancies up the look.

I wore my favorite black pumps. They are from Guess and made of satin with a real sense of comfort. I've had them for years and I still wear them to this day. They can be worn with a pair of jeans or on the dressier side, like in this outfit. To keep the look playful and fun, I chose these multi-colored, layered tassel drop earrings from Zaful. The blues work well with the jumpsuit I feel. Lastly, I also wanted to show some of my favorite upcoming trends in hair & makeup that I saw during Fashion Month and two trends I've really loved are bright, colorful makeup and sleek hair. I did these looks myself - what's funny is these two things are quite familiar to me from back to my skating days. We did big, in your face, makeup, and perfect hair buns without a strand of hair out of place. I'm all for blue eyeshadow and light pink lips lately, it just gives your face that extra pop. What do you guys think of this whole look?

I'm always trying to elevate my creative work - it's not about competing with others. I never have and never will. I'm only in competition with myself and if I don't feel like I'm learning something everyday and getting better with my work, I feel really lost and frustrated. So creating these 'short films' as I call them at the moment, do mean a lot to me and I wouldn't do them if they didn't because a lot of time and energy goes into them. That's how I am with people too, but that's for another time over coffee. Ha ha! Anyhow, would you like to see more conceptualized stories such as this on the blog? I'd love to hear your thoughts so don't forget to drop a comment before you go! Thanks for stopping - follow me on Instagram and YouTube for the latest! See you guys soon. :)

To Speak or Not to Speak

THIS POST IS BROUGHT TO YOU BY RHODA WONG, THE LUXELLE & THE 5TH WATCHES.

Yes, I'm a writer. But like my father, I have a tendency to bottle up my feelings. I have a really tough time trusting people. The only family I've got left is my brother and getting to know people can sometimes be exhausting, not to say that no one is interesting or beautiful but I have had many life experiences that few people will ever have to go through. I've been through it all, really. It can be difficult to relate to others on a personal or emotional level. And though I know I'm really fucking strong, I'm still vulnerable because I'm human. Sometimes the pressure cracks and like propane, I explode. But my new career as a content creator has given me the power to share my story and along the way, has helped me connect and be inspired by others. Just extremely incredible, talented people.

These life experiences have also taught me when to speak or not to speak. When I was younger, I was wilder and more naive. I had no problem telling it like it was, shamelessly giving a big F-U to your face while at it. But when you grow up, you (hopefully) mature emotionally and realize there are times and places for speaking up and when it's just best to remain silent. Even though I still can have a 'flare-up' here and there, even perhaps losing my temper, I've really learned to always be the bigger person, but hurt me or someone I love, I will verbally slaughter you before the real damage is even done.

And call it Korean pride, but I was also raised to never express your personal problems to anyone under any circumstances. It was a big fat no-no to my mother and she had that drilled into my head by the time I was in elementary school. Of course, this might explain my difficulty in also sharing certain parts of my life with others, but with what I do now, I feel like I'm slowly but surely making my way through sharing my emotions perhaps not always verbally, but through visual storytelling... the creative input... this means more to me than anything else right now. Thanks for tuning in this Friday! I hope you enjoyed getting to know me a little better. Got questions? Thoughts from this post? Comment down below or drop me a message! Have a fantastic weekend, everyone!
