It's that time of the month again! My roundabout of monthly beauty favorites, the November edition, is now live on the blog! We've got a cannabis candle that provides a natural aprhodisia, the most luxurious lip balm, a body scrub that looks like it's a smoothie, the most-insanely delicious scent of coconutty body wash goodness, a couple of YSL Beauty must-haves, and a new favorite organic serum that will bounce back that elasticity in no time. From your best girl to the biggest beauty junkie guru, these faves are fantastic holiday stocking stuffers, some unisex which is always a plus when it comes to the shopping madness (I mean, two birds, one stone sometimes, am I right? Ha ha!), but they're also great gifts to give to yourself too! A customer favorite (which I can attest to why), is one of Malin & Goetz's best-selling candles with its spicy, herbaceous scent. Top notes of fresh lemon and orange mingle with middle notes of fig and pepper. Base notes of oakmoss, sandalwood, amber and patchouli create a bold and refined, long-lasting aroma that fills a space. The candle’s natural wax blend provides a clean burn for up to 25 hours. Did I mention the general aphrodisia that is provided? I mean... on top of smelling good. ;)

This is probably one of the most luxurious lip balms I've used. An ultra-rich lip treatment housed in a lovingly glass jar that softens, plumps and beautifies lips while delivering a glossy finish and a specially blended scent, I love that this balm can be used more than just on your lips. Secret uses are under the lips, highlighting the cheekbones, taming eyebrows and even an eyeshadow base for dewy eyes! 

4. FYTT HIT RESTART DETOXIFYING BODY SCRUB TREATMENT

This Detoxing Body and Facial scrub is the best! The ingredients are all natural and organic (for example) Kale, Spinach, Spirulina, Cucumber, and so many more. My skin felt so soft and awake after one use. The amount of exfoliation is just the right amount, it didn't irritate or damage my skin. There are traces of spearmint, leaving this cool minty refreshing feeling, perfect for mornings or after a workout. 

5. INTELLIGENT NUTRIENTS RENEWING OIL SERUM

Recovers and revives. Removes the red, relights the brightness, plumps to unline and firm, and makes elasticity bounce back for a what-did-you-do-differently radiance. I recently went to the Intelligent Nutrients NYC Flagship store for a complete, thorough facial. This is where I was introduced to this serum and let me tell you, it's one of the best serums I've tried this year! A definite must-have this winter season. 

6. SOAPBOX COCONUT MILK & SANDALWOOD DEEP MOISTURE BODY WASH

Give yourself a deep moisturizing experience with this coconut and sandalwood body wash. This shea butter and olive oil blended formula not only seals in moisture, but also contains coconut oil to intensify your hydrating wash. Coconut oil, rich in vitamins E,K and fatty acids, is highly acclaimed for its nourishing and repairing properties and will leave your skin at its softest. The Tracie Martyn Amla Purifying Cleanser is a potent serum that works to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, leaving the skin free from impurities and imperfections. When I tried this cleanser at the show, I was blown away how purifying my hand look after just one cleanse! And this was just a sample on my hand! Imagine how great it felt to apply on the face! Stuffed Mushrooms with Cameron Hughes Wine

One of my favorite appetizers in the world are stuffed mushrooms. They can be of any kind. But paired with another fav, the glorious Thanksgiving side dish I go crazy for; stuffing, the combination is deliciously lethal. But anything that goes perfectly well with a nice hors-d'oeuvre is a really nice glass of wine. Exceptional wine, extraordinary value. Great wine doesn't have to be expensive and Cameron Hughes wine's mission is simple: Buy the best possible wine for the best possible price. Which is why I'm so happy to partner with this San Francisco-based wine company founded by Cameron Hughes! In today's post, I'm sharing my thoughts on three different bottles of wine from this brand including my very own quick and easy stuffed mushroom recipe.

The stuffed mushroom recipe literally consists of only 3 items, minus the butter and boiling water. Aside from that, all you need are white mushrooms, sweet Italian sausage (or any sausage you'd like to try it with), and Stove Top's 'Savory Herbs' stuffing. I do know how to make homemade stuffing, which I do almost every Thanksgiving, but it does require more time and it does always taste better cooked in the bird. All that flavor you're missing out on! But sometimes, for something simple and painless this recipe takes less than an hour to prepare + make on top of going well with either a red or white wine.

Stuffed Mushrooms

Ingredients:

24 oz fresh whole white mushrooms (about 28)

1/2 lb bulk spicy Italian sausage, cooked and drained

1 box Stove Top 'Savory Herbs' stuffing

Directions:

Heat oven to 375°F. Remove stems from mushroom caps; discard stems.

On an ungreased 15x10-inch pan with sides, place mushrooms, stem-side down. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until they just start to release their juices. Remove mushrooms from pan; drain. Remove any liquid from pan.

In a medium bowl, mix Stove Top (cooked) and sausage until well blended. Divide and spoon filling into mushroom caps, mounding slightly. Place mushrooms in the same 15x10-inch pan.

Bake 13 to 18 minutes or until golden brown on top and heated through.

My friends and I first tried the Chardonnay. The super fresh nose of honeysuckle, pear, and apple gains weight and complexity with a bit of air, adding papaya and orange creamsicle to the mix. Creamy and supple on entry, this wine really hits the “umami” button, with rich orange sherbet and vanilla notes riding that honeyed beam of acidity I find so thrilling about the Chardonnays from this region. Robust yet wonderfully complex even at this young age, it finishes in long waves of ripe fruit and creamy vanilla. Yum.

Next up is the beautifully balanced, complex Pinot Noir that will have broad appeal, providing ample punch but also carefully delineated flavors. Pale ruby in the glass, this Pinot starts with rose petal and earthy black cherry on the nose, opening up to reveal the warmer plum and brown baking spice notes with hints of pepper. Ample yet very refined on the palate, with perfect balance and emerging complexity that will definitely improve in the short term as this opens up in the bottle over the next month or two before settling in for long-term aging. Rich and concentrated on the palate with pretty yet ripe plum mingling peppery spice notes, this wine has plush texture and balance in a long, smooth, harmonious finish.

And lastly, no expense spared, icon-level winemaking. Aged in 50% new French oak, this opaque black wine is textbook, classic Rutherford Cabernet. Sumptuous and suave on the nose, it features a gorgeous mélange of blackberry, cherry, cassis, dark chocolate and mint underpinned with graphite and mineral wrapped in lavender florals. The palate is juicy and succulent, with red and black fruit and a finely knit but resounding kirsch/mocha punch. I have to say out of the three, the reds were my favorite, especially the Pinot Noir. What kind of wine do you normally drink with an appetizer?

I use it every morning and night, but even sometimes just use this one its own when I'm having a makeup-free day. And I simply love its subtle scent!

3. DIOR 'DIORSHOW' BROW STYLER

Expert precision for a tailor-made result, Diorshow Brow Styler by Dior redefines, reshapes and fills out the eyebrow, offering high-definition makeup with a graphic yet natural result. 4. KIEHL'S POWERFUL STRENGTH LINE-REDUCING CONCENTRATE

A personal favorite of mine since last winter when I first started using the concentrate, it is clinically-demonstrated to improve overall skin texture, tone and radiance while reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles. I solely apply it only my forehead and right in between my eyebrows where I have a small line formed from squinting too much ha ha! 3. NAKED® COSMETICS URBAN RUSTIC TRIO PRESSED EYESHADOW PALETTE

If you are a fan of the high-color payoff of our Pigments, you will NOT be disappointed in this new Palette. These highly pigmented pressed eyeshadowshave a soft silky feel, and as with our pigments, a little goes a LONG way. I'm obsessed with the fall-inspired rustic colors and have been using this little palette a lot lately! You can try them separately but I like to combine the colors here and there as well. 

4. LIE X NEOEIGHT N23 RED LIP GLOSS

In collaboration with LIE Collection, a brand I saw at Concept Korea's show during NYFW, I received this amazing lip gloss in their goody bag. What makes this lipstick so unique? First off, I'm a K-Beauty addict and Korean skincare and makeup are first-rate. But it's not just the quality of the gloss or the color or creaminess (which I'm always looking for - hate when lip gloss is sticky) but its applique is insane! It not only has a side mirror, but when you open to apply the lip gloss, an LED light within the bottle turns on, which is the perfect lip gloss to carry while out when it's dark! Perfect for when painting the town red. :) 

5. JIN SOON NAIL POLISH FALL ART NOUVEAU COLLECTION 

I discovered Jin Soon nail polish while covering backstage life for Tibi the past couple of seasons. Also Korean, the Fall Art Nouveau Collections comes in four different colors, Abyss (blue-green), Fable (plum purple), Idyll (red-orange), and Milieu (creamy nude/grey). I love each color and think they complement each other well should you want to do a little more nail art. But regardless, these nail polishes are high-quality and won't chip your nails for over a week! Seriously, the best!

Happy Wednesday, everyone! I have a lot of content coming your way in the next week or so, but today's post is on how to achieve a perfect "no makeup" makeup look. Meaning... you do have some makeup on, but the goal is to keep it looking fresh and natural. Especially after a crazy week like NYFW, where every day I had some pretty heavy duty makeup on, I like to give my skin a break and let it breathe afterward.
