Hey, everyone! How is your weekend going? I've been running around like a maniac the past couple of weeks attending events, meetings, appointments and then some. I've been also buried in my digital consulting work, and all of it rolled into one can take a toll after a while. I even had the opportunity to attend the Consumer Discovery Show this year with Foundermade and I met so many great brands and networked with so many wonderful people. It was a really wonderful experience and I can't wait to be back next year! I don't normally publish on the weekend but there's a ton of upcoming content coming your way before the holiday weekend so keep your eyes peeled. In today's post, I'm sharing two designers I find to be unique and one, in particular, will have a double-feature on the blog: One today, and another on Monday! Let's learn more about this designer first in today's sporty look.

Athens-based fashion designer Liana Camba has designed versatile yet sophisticated womenswear since 1987. The epitome of the Liana Camba woman is a combination of intelligence elegance and glamor. Inspired by the multiplicity of a contemporary woman’s roles, Liana Camba’s designs focus on flattering a female body and adapt a woman’s personal style to her demanding everyday life. All fabrics are sourced with care and all garments are created on her premises under her personal supervision. Take a look at this amazing parachute jacket designed by her. What I love in particular is the material and double layer of thinner fabrics like the inner mesh. This particular piece gave me all sorts of urban street style vibes, and I knew exactly what would go perfectly with this jacket: the famous fanny pack!

Run by two talented Israeli designers, they are bringing innovative textiles into the mix. Look at the detail on the green pouch/fanny bag. The concept of MeDusa came to life in 2009, when Israeli designers Gili Rozin Tamam and Adi Gal searched for a way to bring innovative textiles into the fashion and accessories industry. They were driven by the desire to create something completely new in the fashion accessory market, to take a relatively well-known material and use it in a groundbreaking and innovative way. Immediately drawn to the unique look that resulted from sculpting a compound of industrial plastic in vibrant hues, the designers found the basis to their signature style of bags, purses, and clutches. MeDusa seamlessly blends vintage shapes with modern textures, designing contemporary urban styles with a knack for the edgy details. Beyond style, MeDusa takes pride in the fact that all its designs are cruelty-free, eco-friendly, and incredibly durable. Named after the infamous Greek deity, and the Hebrew word for “jellyfish”, MeDusa is dominantly influenced by the all the beautiful colors and patterns found in sea life.

I love that the fanny pack can also be worn as a cross body bag, but I styled it where it's worn in front of the chest. Trust me, all that running around in the city; this comes in handy! I hope (to all it applies to) had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Last year I showcased our dinner with tips & tricks on how to make a good ass turkey. One would know as I've been making our Thanksgiving dinners for the past nine years! Yes, that means a whole turkey and all the trimmings. You can take a look at that post here. I would also love to hear if you missed seeing our spread this year! In all honesty, I've been so busy with work I didn't have it in me to do a post on it. I definitely have a holiday recipe or two coming up on the blog soon though. :)

We also kept it pretty quiet this year, didn't travel and stayed in New York. I love to cook on Thanksgiving and had one of our dear friend's over, but if you know me, we're not too big on the holidays. We do celebrate but we certainly don't go crazy. (If you do do that, please don't ever stop - I love you just the way you are!) I also discovered the cutest new luxe minimal wear from East London that's been keeping me awfully cozy and casually chic at the same time, especially around this time of the year where the colder season is kicking in!

The 100% organic cotton sweater is soft to the touch and extremely comfortable to wear. I didn't want to take it off! Sunday Sporty Chic

The hills are alive with the sound(s) of black on black, a little chambray and some Louis! Isn't this scenic backdrop straight up from something Julie Andrews starred in?! I'm still daydreaming over the New York Botanical Garden's views - it was out of this world and the perfect day trip. After spending the day enjoying the 'Orchidelirium' exhibition (and simultaneously walking over 5 miles in the process), the hubby and I ended the day outside where the light was absolutely gorgeous and with one last stroll through the gardens, we opted for some photos.

I'm big on black and black. Tell me one New Yorker who isn't! Pairing up my new favorite coat from Assembly New York with a black mattelassé pencil skirt from Forever 21 gives length and slenderness. And I call this coat my "confidence" coat. Whenever I wear it, I feel like the ultimate girl boss! Every woman should have a piece like this in her closet. I like to think of them as your lucky charms because wherever you'll go, you'll exude self-confidence, and then, of course, embodying total and complete empowerment. Girls, we run this motha (yeah!)

I knew we'd be doing a lot of walking, so I went with my day-to-day Nike kicks. They're the ultimate comfort and pretty much go with everything I have. Adding to the sporty chic vibe and to give texture & contrast, I chose a striped ribbed tee from Express and layered that with a Western chambray shirt from American Eagle. Final touches include a classic Louis Vuitton bag, accessorized with my most recent and favorite jewelry thanks to Rockbox. After coffee most mornings (unless it's a downpour), I take maQ with me out rollerblading for a few miles to get in some exercise for the day. We'll also train and lastly, play with his Chuck-It balls. His favorite. I have a big rule with my pup though, and it's an orderly structure: exercise, discipline, THEN affection. I never rearrange this. It's Cesar Milan's way. So when anyone asks, "how is your dog so well-behaved?" I answer them with the order I use. Trust me. Follow this and you're golden. I'm always down to help others with their doggy problems, because everywhere I go there seems to be something. And you know what? It's perfectly okay! It's called being human. ;) Why not help each other, and your furry pal too, instead of living the same way? Don't be shy, let's chat!

We really bond when we're out rollerblading. I find nothing more important than spending quality time with maQ. He's the only living soul I can share my secrets with and I don't have to utter a word. He is my special creature. I swear he possesses magical healing powers. He is my family and support. We are the definition of a pack. Our spirit animal must be the wolf! Howl!

I'm always scouting for new music, but will never betray the classics. Music is a definite passion of mine.
