Borrowed from the boys but geared for the girls, mansy tailoring is this season's key trend. It'll keep you looking like the business, while exaggerated 80s shoulders and pops of color are a strong style right now. Not to mention anything floral print for the fall season is all the rage right now. And this peach-colored pantsuit from Zaful is the perfect amount of feminine touch mixed in with one of my favorite trends right now, menswear for women. Normally I'm into oversized more structured pieces when it comes to a masculine look but when I saw this pantsuit and its gorgeous floral print, and the fact that there's nothing more I want right now than to be at Paris Fashion Week, I'll be living vicariously through the 'cool cats' and in turn, will dress up a getup as if I were in Paree!

How perfect would the City of Lights be as a backdrop for this photo shoot?! One of the perks of living somewhere like New York City when it comes to photo shoots are the endless amounts of locations to choose from. Can you believe I've lived here for over 11 years and I have yet to still make a visit out to Coney Island? We were going to shoot there before the summer ended but ran out of time due to crazy schedules. When I wanted to find a place in the city that could resemble Paris (okay, I know nothing can resemble Paris exactly but...) I always found the center of Union Square Park to be quite magical and reminiscent of Western Europe.

Now, what went with what in terms of this lovely pantsuit? I styled it with a really cute Adore Me black sheer bodysuit. I love this one especially because you can still wear it during the fall season before it gets too cold and how well it can go with a chic pair of jeans or something more detailed like this look. I feel like it gave the outfit a little sensuality/sexiness to the overall empowered look. To bring a little-added attention to the lace details of the bodysuit, I wore a long slinky necklace by Gorjana I received from one of the shows during NYFW.

Since I'm super petite (yes, I look taller in all my photos because it's all about the angles!) I wore my favorite sock boots at the moment. They completely look like the Balenciaga boots, but since my wallet can't shell out a grand+ for a pair, you got to opt for something more affordable for the time being! And these give me all the added height and confidence a pair of shoes should give a gal! What do you think of this fall look? See something that caught your eye? Β

THE WORLD IS MADE UP OF TWO TYPES OF WOMEN: THE SIMPLE GIRLS AND THE KATIE GIRLS. I AM A KATIE GIRL. ~ CARRIE BRADSHAW

Β

If you're a SATC fan, I'm sure you know by now what episode Carrie said this in, with who, and why. It all comes down to Hubbel and why Robert Redford didn't end up with Barbara Streisand, or as us girls know her as, Katie... the complicated woman with wild curly hair. β€œHello! C-C-C-Curly!!” Not all men, but many would prefer being with a simple girl rather than a Katie girl. Why? She's basic... ordinary... nothing special. She won't challenge you or inspire you or make you want to be a better person, but more so has the talent of keeping things light and well... simple. A definite non-core shaking kind of gal. And there's nothing wrong in that. But men I find to be highly intelligent and sophisticated will eventually grow tired with boredom. Wouldn't you rather find someone who touches your soul? What is the phenomenon of some men wanting to have a more quiet, less intense-filled relationship? Let's take a closer look...

4.jpg

There are a variety of reasons. One is that some men have trouble handling a Katie girl. We're passionate, ambitious, and sometimes yes, wildly difficult. Not because it's cool to be a great deal of maintenance required, but because we have opinions and aren't afraid to stand up for them let alone share them with you. We don't have simple minds and nothing about a Katie girl is basic. Ever see that couple walking down the street where the man is drop dead gorgeous, but not the woman? Now she may not be ugly, even far from it, but there's nothing particularly unique about her. She looks like a dime a dozen, and the personality is the same. An attractive man may prefer being with someone less attractive-looking for the sole purpose of being the better looking one. And because they know this, they too realize that these women will also worship the ground they walk on. They need that sort of validation from this kind of girl as they'd never receive it in the same way with a Katie girl. Plus,  a man like this tend to also be extremely insecure or narcissistic, and would also have trouble being with an extremely desirable woman. Just the idea of another man looking at her would piss them off to no end. (Yes, I've been with a guy like this before, and ugh, such a turnoff.)

The other reason comes to down to simplicity. As mentioned before, the easier the relationship is -  the happier the guy will be in this situation. No muss, no fuss. But how can you grow with someone that you never disagree with let alone shares any kind of objections with? You think they're going to share their hopes & dreams on top? The same goes for women wanting a Katie guy. Is there anything real in that? But I also think not everyone wants fireworks... complications... difficulties. Most of us hardly have the time to see our friends let alone immerse themselves in an intense relationship as such. And how many times do you encounter a love like that? Once? Maybe twice if you live long enough? I think the key to finding and maintaining a successful healthy relationship is definitely figuring out what you want... what works for you, what doesn't. Because no one is exactly the same.

How do you guys feel about this dynamic? Do opposites really attract, or is it just a disaster waiting to happen? Find out at least, in my opinion. I like to live with no regrets and if making a few mistakes leads me to something great, it's worth looking into right? But only if you're truly into the person. And I mean, TRULY. Lastly, I can't forget to mention a few shout outs with this fun pre-fall look! I'm all about the layering lately so today I matched an Adore Me pajama blouse with a cute summery striped split dress from ROMWE. I love the lavender satin ribbon detail in the back of the blouse, it brings a nice feminine added touch to the overall edgier look. My new backless ankle boots are from Ego Shoes, and they're one of my favorite shoe brands based in the UK! I added fishnet crew socks to complement the layered outfit. And my Movado watch was my mother's, a gift my father once gave her as an anniversary present, and a lesson within itself that you cannot buy back time. Don't forget to check out the entire look by shopping directly down below! You can follow my everyday adventures on Instagram too! And leave those comments down below about how you feel about basic b*tches vs. non-basic b*tches... and/or what you look for in a relationship that works for you :) I hope you all have a great week!

Yay, we made it through midweek! Happy Hump Day, friends! Today on the blog, I'm showing you how to style an abstract print piece into your wardrobe. These particular prints can sometimes be tricky, as I feel certain prints can be either too much or not enough. So where do you draw the line? How do you accessorize a piece that's already kind of 'loud' to begin with? In most cases, less is more!

This unique white abstract printed silk long shirt by VIPme is perfect for the Spring season. It is lightweight, thin and completely minimal yet colorful at the same time! Is that even possible? Of course, anything is! Especially when it comes to fashion! Am I right, guys?! Since the weather here in New York is still not being very cooperative, I layered the abstract shirt with a nightie and sweater! I first pulled over a nice fitted wool sweater also from VIPme and then the blue nightie from my latest favorite lingerie store, Adore Me

To bring out the extra pop of colors from the abstract shirt, I accessorized with a bright pink statement necklace from H&M and a yellow Pom-Pom from VVA. However, to still keep it minimal and not looking too crazy, I kept it simple with my ultimate favorite color: Black (New Yorker, much?) My Rosegal black jeans are my recent favorites and I have probably walked half of the city in these Aldo studded boots. I've had them for years and I'm still not quite ready to part ways with them. Do you have a piece or two like this in your closet as well? Lastly, my new black fringe leather bucket bag from Alles is amazing! High-quality, with lots of room to fit a ton of your essentials (and without looking too bulky) the fringe finishes the entire look with a cool, bohemian feel. Totally me, I love dressing a little wildly, here and there. That's just the kind of girl I am, I guess. Whatdya think? Until next time... you can use my code, 'Suzanne542' to get $5 OFF your purchase of any order over $50!

ADORE ME, SELF-PORTRAIT SERIES, DECEMBER 23RD, 2016.

This post is sponsored by Adore Me.

It's been a good hot minute since I've done a self-portrait series up on the blog. So when I partnered with Adore Me, a beautiful, high-quality, perfectly fitting lingerie line, I knew I wanted the challenge of photographing myself in not just lingerie, but in the most intimate expression of my style. And self-portraiture is not the easiest form of photography. But like I mentioned, I enjoy a difficult task. :)

When I first chose the two-piece bra and panty set I was somewhat apprehensive but wow! The set fits so well and I adore the teal color so much. The Venetia Unlined set is sexy, fun and playful. I'm also all sorts of in love with the Kelsey black satin robe. It's super chic, light and very comfortable. Tell me a girl that isn't into anything satiny! I definitely wanted to embody this through self-portraits.

Wishing you all a 'bootyful' holiday season! I'll be taking the next few days off for some much-needed R&R. I think it is healthy to take breaks from social media even if that's what you do full-time! I'll be back with a new photo shoot that holds a special place in my heart and a fun New Year's look! Merry Christmas. Peace & Love to you all.
